"Sorry, you can't include links in your posts."

There is a hyperlink button in the forum comment field.

However, when adding a hyperlink to a forum reply, the user is notified that hyperlinks are not allowed.

Twas a nice touch that the message started with “Sorry”.

How can this be?

Because at the time you were attempting to add a link to a post you did not have a Trust Level which was sufficiently high enough to enable including links in your posts.

It is an anti-spam measure put in place to impede those who would create new accounts to post links to their products and services.

Now that you’ve engaged a bit more on the forum your Trust Level has increased from Trust Level 0 to Trust Level 1 and you should be good to include relevant links in your posts.

How much does it take to reach trust level 1?

I tried to include links to Github and Statista. Couldn’t an AI (duh!) audit the links/post and judge everything’s “spaminess”? With Github and Statista being strong indicators that it is not spam.
