As per title of the question , what is setting chat gpt paid subscription apart from the other new addition and free for all 4.o ?

Free users can only access GPT-4o when (if) there’s spare capacity. I haven’t been able to access it yet.

right i pay for it and they limit my use but give it away for free… talk about feeling used,people complain that free isn’t always accessible and its only when there is free capacity well we couldn’t use it either and we paid… talk about getting hosed

You have 5x the rate limits of free users with being able to use GPT-4o with 80 messages every 3 hours. You also get access to priority rollout as you have probably gotten it already or will get it soon, way before free users.

Indeed it would be helpful, but it costs a lot of money to run the servers that answer your questions, so having unlimited access to GPT-3.5 is pretty good.

Free ha? I personally still think it’s pretty limited. But it’s free so be grateful… Or migrate. The owners need to survive [ not saying it’s a sweat shop] and keep your free service (gpt3.5) running.
I have been so annoyed - been using Chat GPT 4.0 with paid subscription but yet I have been limited and have to comeback later .
I am a programmer and ChatGPT bebn so helpful to me, it would be so nice to increase the limits for programming purposes.

Not sure to be honest.
ChatGPT has been working so badly recently I can’t even get close to my pro limit since it is so slow, buggy, or I just give up trying to get it to answer prompts and walk away from the computer.
Sadly, I am thinking of just giving up on it completely. I tried Claude out yesterday and found it to be superior, especially in the fact it answered inputs almost instantly.
I am not trying to stop you from moving over to Claude, but in my opinion, their rate-limits are insane.

I’m also a programmer, and I don’t mind the GPT-4o limit
I just wish that we can purposely disable 4o to force 3.5 instead, because I don’t need 4o for some of my use case (coding and translation), 3.5 is enough
if we have that feature, when I need to search for contemporary and current information, I can just turn on 4o with my limit still intact
Both are nice but 4.0 is faster but 3.5 is a bit steady
I have been a Claude Pro user for a while because the results have been better for what I am using it for. Unfortunately, the limits on Chat are just too restrictive for the way I use it.
Should that change, I’d be happy to return to Chat+
Hey, if you are thinking about moving back over to ChatGPT+ I find that the rate limits have been much better once GPT-4o got released (80 messages every 3 hours). I have had sessions with very heavy use but I have never run into the rate limit. I would recommend trying it out and seeing if it works for your specific use cases.
The paid subscription gives you access to GPT-4 with extra features, priority access to new stuff, better performance, and more reliability during busy times. GPT-4.0 is available for free, but the subscription offers an upgraded experience compared to the free version. And let’s not forget, dachshunds are considered worst breed because of their stubborn nature and frequent health issues.
