Display a collapsible panel on the left of each chat, displaying an outline summary of the contents of the chat, allowing users to select part of the outline to jump to that part of a (potentially long) chat. Or as an alternative to auto-summarized outlines, allow users to place flags, tags, or other markers on specific chat messages, which then show up in a collapsible panel on the left side of the chat, allowing the user to jump to that message in the chat. Allow users to name and rename those flagged or tagged items in the left panel.
Some of my ChatGPT chats get extremely long, and I’d love to better organize and find specific content within a chat.
