I already emailed open AI support and asked them to clarify exactly what terms of service I had broken. They didn’t clarify why I was banned.
I still have no idea why I was banned. I keep getting useless AI responses from Clarizza. Please have a HUMAN REVIEW MY CASE and email me specifying exactly WHY i was banned.
I was not even using ChatGPT/Codex when I got banned. I got banned a full day after my latest use of Codex where I did very basic coding that could not have broken any terms of service. I literally have been using it the same way for months and never gotten banned. This ban was so random (Happened on June 7). My last use of Codex was June 6.
I literally cannot think of a single TOS violation that I made. @OpenAI_Support
I’m sorry to hear about this happening to you and others.
So far, the only feedback I’ve seen is on X (twitter) that some accounts (perhaps Codex users detected using overages of services?) got banned inappropriately, that there would be action taken to review them, but I have not personally seen a follow up there.
The OpenAI staff here do support Codex features under the umbrella of “developers”, so it is an issue where you might expect some feedback to the code-writing-with-AI community here, but also nothing yet regarding accounts, which is usually “email support” for anything organization related even on API.
I was falsely banned for the most basic use of Codex possible (literally developers do it daily) and my appeals were auto-denied. As someone that relied on it daily, the lack of real response from support on my case is disappointing.
I still have no idea what terms of service I have actually violated. I thought codex was for coding and I was banned for using codex the way it was literally made to be used?
It has taken too long to fix so I have already moved over to another provider. How do I request the deletion of all my data if I can’t even log into my account at all? I can’t even download my information, I can’t do anything.
The AI support keeps telling me to appeal, i appealed 2nd time and its auto-denied instantly without review.
Also shows how unreliable OpenAI is as a company that they can just ban you for no reason, waste multiple days and never really have any human be able to get back to you to fix the false bans and you are stuck talking to an AI support that can’t help you.
I understand the inconvenience here. The case in question has already been escalated to the specialized team and is currently under review. They'll reach out as soon as they have an update.
