"Oops, an error occurred!"

I can’t use ChatGPT due to this error. I tried different ways but nothing works.
How can I fix this? Or maybe OpenAI will fix it later?

Im going through it too. It was fine this morning. I have been reading threads and checking if anyone else is going thru it as well, but those were from back in November. As for today, Looks like Im not the only one now. I tried everything I could, and nothing. Im hoping its a backend thing over at OpenAI thatll get fixed.

Same problem here. I’ve tried logging out and logging back in, deleting cookies, and nothing helps. The status page says ChatGPT is working fine. I’m using the Edge browser. Maybe we can figure out if we have any similarities.

Same here. I first noticed this problem about 4 hours ago. The error always pops up immediately after I send a question, regardless of the content. It even occurs after I logged out.

Ive tried on Chrome and Safari, and still coming up the same. I checked the status as well and it says its good. Im going to wait it out and see if its working in the morning lol

I have 2 computers, one is win7 and the other is win10, win 10 is ok. win 7 has this “Oops, an error occurred!”

yes, i have the same issue today and i tried all ways and it still doesn’t work.

I faced this problem the entire day! OpenAi doesn’t seem to want to resolve. Upset.

Same thing. The error pops up whenever I try to write something in a new chat, but also whenever I try to just open one of the existing chats. So not only am I unable to use ChatGPT, I also can’t reference our past conversations.

That’s true. I don’t have problem when using Win 10, but they happened when I use Win 7

For the last few weeks I’ve been getting a lot of “we’ve detected something unusual” warnings while using ChatGPT. I wonder if they’re running some kind of script to detect bots, and which Win7/8 breaks.

Chrome on Win7 : :x:
Firefox on Win7: :heavy_check_mark:

Changing DNS to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 as suggested in past threads on the same error did not help.

Update:
Firefox on Win7 works, but stragely I do still get the message
{“detail”:{“message”:“Unauthorized - Access token is missing”}}
when calling https://chatgpt.com/backend-api/compliance
which seems to handle the Oauth info according to this post
