Hi team,
I’m locked out of my ChatGPT Pro account — 4 days now, since Oct 2. My account’s verification phone number is an old number I can no longer access. Google sign-in loops back to it, and the alternate verification path requires a device I don’t have. There is no self-service recovery path available to me.
Support case: #16309861
I’m a $500/mo Pro subscriber and this is now blocking time-sensitive work. Could @OpenAI_Support please review and escalate this to the team that can perform a manual MFA/phone verification reset? I’m ready to complete any ownership verification required immediately.
Thank you.
Day 4 update — still locked out of my ChatGPT Pro account ($500/month), support case 16309861. I sent a detailed escalation this morning requesting a manual MFA reset (my verification phone number is an old number I can no longer access), and followed up this afternoon citing the business-critical impact. No reply from OpenAI support yet.
Asking again: can someone from the support team pick this up and reset my MFA/verification phone number manually? I’m happy to provide whatever identity verification is needed.
Final update before this closes: I tried the Privacy Portal path the privacy team suggested — “Download my data” just redirects to the ChatGPT sign-in page, which is exactly what I’m locked out of. So to get my data I’d have to sign in — the thing case #16309861 (open since Oct 2, $500/mo Pro account locked over an inaccessible old phone number) has been about all along. If anyone at OpenAI sees this: email-only verification is all I can do.
