Locked out by MFA authenticator I never configured — Support case 13510906

Request to prioritize account-access review — Case 13510906

I’m asking for help regarding an unresolved ChatGPT account-access issue.

I am a paying ChatGPT Plus customer and have been completely locked out of my account since August 21, 2026.

OpenAI Support Case: 13510906

I can successfully complete email verification, but I am then blocked by an authenticator-based MFA prompt. I do not have access to the enrolled authenticator and have never knowingly configured an authenticator for this account. No alternative recovery method is available.

I have already completed all recovery steps requested by Support and provided a screen recording of the login process. Support has confirmed that no further customer-side troubleshooting is required and that the remaining step is an account-access/MFA recovery review.

I understand that this review may require ownership and security verification. I am not asking Support to bypass MFA or provide an MFA code.

At this point, I am asking whether my existing account-access review can be prioritized/escalated. I have been unable to access my paid ChatGPT Plus account since August 21, and I would like to regain access not only to the subscription itself, but also to my existing ChatGPT account and chat history.

The chat history associated with my account is important to me, so I specifically want to recover access to my existing account rather than create or use a new account.

If an OpenAI staff member or moderator can help ensure that Case 13510906 reaches the appropriate account-access/MFA recovery team and is reviewed as soon as possible, I would greatly appreciate it.

I am ready to provide any additional verification required.
