Dear OpenAI Support Team,
I am a ChatGPT Plus (Pro) user, and I appreciate the value and depth that GPT-4.5 provides. However, I am experiencing an issue that I believe is unfair to light users like myself and would like to bring it to your attention.
I understand that usage limits exist to ensure fair distribution of resources, but I feel that the current system does not differentiate between heavy and light users. I personally use ChatGPT for a limited amount of time each day (at most about an hour, and some days I don’t use it at all). Despite this, I have received messages stating that I have reached my usage limit, which seems unreasonable given my moderate usage.
It seems unfair that users who engage with GPT-4.5 for many hours daily are subjected to the same restrictions as those who only use it for essential tasks in a more limited way. A more balanced approach—such as implementing a rolling usage cap, a tiered system, or an allocation based on actual user activity—would be a fairer solution.
As a paying subscriber, I expect reliable access to the service without encountering unexpected restrictions when my usage is moderate. I hope OpenAI will consider improving the fairness of usage limits so that Pro users who use the service responsibly are not unnecessarily restricted.
I would appreciate any clarification on how limits are currently calculated and whether OpenAI has plans to improve or adjust this policy in the future.
Thank you,
Mark
