Feature Request: Replace Weekly Usage Limits with a 5-Hour Rolling Window

Hi,

I’m currently a Pro subscriber paying $100 per month, and I regularly reach my weekly usage limit within only two days. I understand that a higher-priced $200 plan is available, but the Pro plan is the most I can afford at this time.

I’d like OpenAI to consider reinstating the previous five-hour rolling usage window and removing the weekly limit. I would much rather pause for a few hours after reaching a temporary limit than lose access for several days.

Paying $100 per month and being unable to use the service for roughly four days each week is extremely frustrating. In practice, this can mean losing access for close to two weeks out of every month.

A rolling time-based limit would still help manage demand while giving paying users more consistent access throughout the week. Please consider offering this system again, or providing Pro users with a more flexible usage-limit structure.

Thanks for raising this, @this_is_so_wrong. I can see why losing access for several days feels especially frustrating on a paid plan.

The removal of the five-hour usage limit in Codex is temporary and is related to an ongoing incident, rather than a permanent change to the usage model. Once that incident is resolved, the usual limit structure should return.

Your broader request for a more flexible rolling limit instead of a weekly cap is also clear, and I’m sending that feedback to the team for logging.
