As a frequent and structured user of ChatGPT, I have accumulated a large number of chats across various topics – ranging from technical projects (e.g. Excel/VBA, SQL, PHP web apps) to creative writing, trip planning, and personal notes. These chats often span over weeks or months and require clear organization and quick access.
I would love to see the following features to improve chat management:
- Custom Folder Structure
Organize chats into user-defined folders or subfolders by project or topic.
- Tags or Labels
Add custom tags to categorize chats (e.g. “Vacation”, “Database”, “Ideas”, “Recipes”).
- Advanced Search
Search inside chat content, by title, keywords, date range, or system messages.
- Filtering and Sorting Options
Sort chats by creation date, last activity, alphabetical order, or frequency.
Filter by topics, labels, or pinned status.
- Multi-Select and Bulk Actions
Select multiple chats to delete, move, export, or mark at once.
