Feature request: Folders/tags to organise chats by topic in the sidebar

I use ChatGPT for a lot of ongoing, serious work: politics/activism, caring and benefits, housing and money, planning my son’s education, business ideas, plus lighter things like recipes and Minecraft modding.

The problem:
The “Your chats” sidebar is purely chronological. Over time, it becomes a big list of conversations that are hard to distinguish, even if I try to rename them. When I want to go back to, say, a specific politics thread or a benefits conversation about my mum, it’s trial and error scrolling and clicking.

What I’m asking for:

  • Folders or projects I can create and drag chats into – e.g.

    • Politics & Activism

    • Caring & Benefits

    • Housing & Money

    • My Son & Education

    • Business & Ideas

    • Recipes / Hobbies / Misc

    or

  • A simple tag/label system for chats, with an option to filter by tag in the sidebar – e.g. tags like POL, CARE, SON, BIZ, REC, MC.

A couple of extras that would also help:

  • The ability to pin a few chats at the top (e.g. my main “housing plan” thread, main “caring/benefits” thread).

  • Maybe a way to bulk-retitle/archive older chats, but honestly folders/tags would already be a huge improvement.

For people who use ChatGPT as a long-term thinking and planning tool rather than just an occasional Q&A bot, this kind of organisation would be a game-changer.
