There seems to be a huge discrepancy between API credits used vs negative credit balance. There’s no way I have used up $284 worth of API credits.

Same issue here. I am not getting rate-limited for trying to enter a new cc. I also get an error for the API: rate limit exceeded. Seems like a big issue for API users right now. Any updates on the status page?

Same issue for me. API calls stopped with $205 negative balance, the AI support keeps telling the same thing to check usage and billing. I don’t see OpenAI actually providing a resolution in this thread on a serious issue.

Same here.
I started the day with a -20 balance in my account.
I added 50, leaving me with 26.31.

Yesterday, I had 10, and my daily usage was 3.20.
I was charged around 30 for no reason.

preparing some services to go live and enable autocharges… Now it’s evident, that we will never do it… I can now imagine… I wake up one day… my business is out of operation, customers complaining, my business bank account is drained… what a shame… from company as great as OpenAI!

This is one of the worst case scenarios how AI could destroy the world in one day as we get more and more reliant on it.

I have the same problem, it’s complicated.
I think it’s happening to everyone!

FOR EVERYONE HAVE THIS PROBLEM:

1. Check your Credit Grants section
2. Make the math difference between the “usage” credit and the quota that you have assigned (why the hell OpenAI use this function??)
3. Compare this number with your negative balance: it would have to be the same

Infact 62.95 - 30 = 32.95, the same number I have as negative balance.
I suppose there is a kind of bug or something in their backend.

Does it happen to you too?

I don’t think it depends from us (the pay as you go usage can’t make these descrepances to everyone).

We have to wait the support
But if each others confirm this situation, that could be solved by developers

Same here. It says I owe $2000+ which I do not owe. I won’t bother with exact amounts and screen shots. A lot of people, if not everyone, are having the same problem. I echo what a number of people have said: Thank god I didn’t have auto-recharge on.

We did a $200 recharge yesterday and there was no heavy usage, maybe $5 at best.
Today the balance is showing -$302
