Rather: even if sending repeated messages to support@openai.com, and them being looked at by human and escalated - is there anybody alive at Stripe at 4am their time that can work with an authorized party at OpenAI for their billion-dollar account and engineering and infrastructure that is also hard at work in the middle of the night?
For those affected, see if this theory matches:
You being re-billed as “monthly” (which still exists), for the entire month’s usage, and that being your negative balance…
Rather, it seems the symptom, which can be observed in a few screenshots of credit grants:
Past used and unused credit grants have the sign flipped to negative, which should be impossible, and then, what should be a zero balance of a used credit grant, is now a negative amount of the the original payment, sometimes double or triple the original payment. This is then further conflated with what might have been the remaining balance, giving an uncalculable display for what might have been the true balance on each grant item.
Note that grants should be being used in the order they would expire first (sometimes there are credit grants with less than a year expiry from other sources, like API error refunds).
The total of all grants with credit available is obviously not meant to go negative though, showing a positive balance still. It is the final “credit balance” that adds up these negatives, going back many months in credit billings, to a final huge negative.
I picture folks at OpenAI are still asleep… but someone got a bit earlier… and saw this thread… and many other people who contacted them via support… and well.. he is now calling everybody, waking them up!!! SO everybody’s getting early morning call and a lot of folks are freaked out… So they rush to the office without breakfasts and there’s a great deal of chaos and stress on the shoulders of that particular person, who implemented this… or allowed AI to do it on it’s own.
Anyways… this will be an epic morning for OpenAI company. But I am sure, they will fix it as soon as they are back in the office.

We had a positive balance of $16 today morning and suddenly showed -$491. We have hardly spent $3 today.
Hello, friends! Today a strange situation with the balance arose. It suddenly became negative - minus 3000 dollars. Yesterday it was 200 dollars, the API expense was 60 dollars. And on the account - 3000. And I still have a spending limit of 2000. It’s good that I have not been disconnected from the API yet. But the situation is alarming.

We are facing a similar issue. Yesterday it was +10 dollars, but today it was -16 dollars. The last two days’ usage was 0.50 dollars.
This Discrepancy seems to have suddenly occured later during the day. Initially, when the dashboard was opened in the morning , The credit balance was 38 USD , the same was showing as 492 USD as my negative credit balance after 12 PM. The API’s are not in use since a few days.

I think there is an issue about Credits Grant, infact my negative balance is exactly the difference between Credits and “usage” of them.
Hope they will fix it as soon as possible, everything is locked

mine showed -89.03 i tried to contact the customers service but just got the Ai assitant, when i chose to pay it showed 00.00 balance i thought it was a glitch only but when i paid 107 usd i only got 9 usd on my account which means the 89 usd got actually deducted
