This is my first day paying for the openAI api, but I cannot use the chat mode of GPT-3.5-turbo in the playground or API.

Not sure what you mean by “paying for the API” do you mean ChatGPT Plus? the $20/mo service? If so then that is NOT the API, that is a different service, to use the API you need to add a credit card to your API billing details, or add credit to your account depending on what kind of account you have.

I add credit to my account to my API billing . I can use the completion mode. But where I change the mode to “chat” and GPT-3.5-turbo" model. It will be error.

yea, that’s why I included a link to the playground, it should default to 3.5-turbo in chat mode, you can get that exact error if you use some of the old documentation links to examples.
I change all kinds of models : gpt-3.5-turbo-0301,gpt-3.5-turbo,gpt-4. It’s show same error:
This is not a chat model and thus not supported in the v1/chat/completions endpoint. Did you mean to use v1/completions?
I try to use my friend APK to have a test. It works.
Maybe the reason is I pay for it in the first day.
