How i can find a Community of people interested in Ai Dev

Hello all,

I was wondering where I could connect with people who are interested in AI.

I’m currently 17 years old and I’ve been learning Machine Learning and AI engineering for the past 6 months. I was wondering if there were online communities that I could join to further my learning and connect with people.

I think the hardest part of being young and doing programming is that most people around me aren’t doing it, so I find that I can’t talk about what I’m learning or collaborate on projects together.

Welcome to the community!

You can join this one

Even if you get to university, you’ll find that a lot of people don’t really care about the subject matter. Similarly at work.

You’ll have to identify and pick up valuable people as you meet them. I’m sure there’s someone other than yourself at your school that’s interested in this material. Even if there isn’t; as you learn, and contribute, you’ll find people you’ll vibe with :cowboy_hat_face:

The nice thing is that no one really cares about age or origin. You could be an intelligent geriatric giraffe, and most people wouldn’t bat an eye.

Hey,

I’m 17 too and not to long ago I finished highscool early and have been able to complete my first year of my associate degree in business management while educating myself on AI through azure certifications. That being said, kinda like you pointed out its pretty hard to find people our age working on this so I would love to possibly meet or collaborate on a project with you if that’s ok?

Feel free to reach out to me with your portfolio. If you don’t have one here’s how to do it:

List all the problems you have already solved in this area and describe what the problem is, what is the goal, and how you solved it. Don’t forget to include some metrics of the results.

Once you have that, use AI (o1 good for this) to create a document showing your expertise (at your current level).

Then again use AI to create a profile on upwork with a good value proposition for what you already know and can deploy for customers.

And then just start promoting your upwork profile and services on LinkedIn and on your website.

Figure out pricing, not very cheap but not extremely expensive neither. And welcome to the business.

The relationships you will get from this and they experience your gain will be far better than any school you can do without working in parallel.

Then if you find time to do studies, you welcome to do it. Check if Peterson’s academy has anything in the area.

Hi,

Congrats on your associate degree : ) I’ve been homeschooling myself since middle school (I’m from the UK so I don’t know if that’s correct). I’m currently looking for an apprenticeship whilst finishing off my A Levels. ~ I took a year’s break before high school because of external circumstances.

Here’s my LinkedIn profile name definitely message me: Omi-sachi Amadasun

There’s been a lot of progression in my life since this post - I’m not having the easiest time. I’ve been struggling to focus on my coding and I would have loved to have done some more projects and certifications.
