Has anyone seen where support went?

Is there anyone working in support? I have waited days for a reply about fraud, and nothing. I tweeted Sam and still nothing. I am still not sure as to what happened as I have yet to talk to support but my account had a rogue model running millions of tokens per hour. I killed all api keys, logged off all users (was only me), enabled 2 step auth app validation and still this charge continued. I noticed that it had pulled $10-$30 per day for three days at first, then burned through my account funds, my account was auto refilled (this is when I noticed something was wrong), and before lunch it was drained again. No clue why it refilled as the amount in my account was more than my monthly limit. I deleted my cards to stop the bleeding and now my account is locked, but even still with no api keys, new passwords, and even delete the project this person was able to use my account and drain hundreds. I could not stop it any other way than letting the account get locked and now my apps don’t work and I can not get support to answer me.

Has anyone seen this before? I do not believe it was one of my apps, nor was this a person using my credentials, I believe it went rogue on my dime and now I can not get a hold of anyone in the company.

I’ve never gotten a response from an actual rep here. It’s a good idea to build your app to be platform-agnostic in case you need to switch to Claude or Gemini.

Welcome. Sorry to hear you’re having problems.

Unfortunately, we can’t help you here. I’d recommend to keep trying to contact help.openai.com and give them as many details as you can.

While not an excuse, they’re a quickly growing company, and I’m sure they’re scrambling to improve customer support.

I’ve been using OpenAI tech since GPT-2, and it’s been amazing to see the company grow. In the early days, the founding employees routinely answered our support requests. At some point, one of my support emails went unanswered for a day. Then two. I tried to never send unless it was very urgent, but I noticed a “disturbance in the force” as they say!

The AI chat support was soon implemented. While far from perfect, it too has come a long way in a short time.

All this is to say, keep at it. And please let us know if you do get it resolved. And again, sorry to hear you’re having difficulties…

They refunded me my money just an hour ago, but I fear this could happen again as they did not give me a reason to why it happened aside from … “interesting that the monthly limit did not work for you”. That is a good idea to use the other AI companies as a back up, I may just be leaving open ai all together once I incorporate the other AI models (seems all OpenAI’s employees already left).

I wish y’all the best luck and thank you for your responses!

Have you looked into Azure? Basically same products (maybe a little behind) but enterprise level support, infrastructure, etc.

Depending on the size of your project, might be something to look into?

Glad you got it sorted, though! Best of luck to you as well…
