Looks like OpenAi do not want to solve it. Many people emailed them but they replied with some generic solution that does not work at all. They dont care actually .

What are you all doing, OPENAI staff? The issue of being unable to read images and documents has been going on for a week and still hasn’t been resolved. Are you intentionally preventing customers from using them? Is it to drive customers to competitors? Are you guys stupid? Solving the after-sales problem of a customer who paid $20 is more important than any other job you have now. Hurry up and handle it. You have collected the customer’s money!

This is part of an email I sent earlier to the OpenAI team, in which we organized several issues and captured screenshots for each of them. We also recorded a video using NVIDIA’s screen recording software. In the process, we discovered that OpenAI had replaced the models for some Plus users who were experiencing issues. You can refer to the video link and images I have provided to understand the situation.
Although it is unclear whether this is intentional on OpenAI’s part, this negative issue has persisted for over a week, and they have yet to provide any explanation. Of course, I do not wish to make any accusations against OpenAI, but the lack of any explanation thus far is concerning.

I have the same issue as well. It’s more of a hit-or-miss and it’s bugging me for at least a week or more!
I am a paid user. When I upload images or ask for internet usage, 4o decides it “can’t read” images, look at files, or look at the internet. It’s a shame since I use chat as a crucial part of my daily workflow, and the lack of image and file analysis really makes it nearly impossible to use efficiently.
Very disappointed.
