Error - You exceeded your current quota

There is enough quota left, but an error is thrown that the quota has been exceeded.
I’m on pay as you go and I don’t have any overdue charges and looking for help if anyone has had the same experience.

That’s your spending limit. There are also individual rate limits depending on your usage tier. You can see those here,

I’m having the same issue, but the accepted answer doesn’t seem to apply for me for me as my both spending and usage limits are the same and I haven’t exceeded that. I have not exceeded the limits and I’m on Pay as you go plan.

The plan is actually “pay before you can go”.

See what your credit balance is, that you must pre-purchase and keep refilled to pay for services.

I’m on the monthly plan and pay the amount at the end of the month. I haven’t used even 30% of my limit for April yet. and it says “Pay as You Go” in the billing page

OpenAI has been switching accounts to pre-paid billing.

With a monthly plan, the link will have the balance for the month that will be due. With language specifically about monthly billing.

With prepaid, instead it will say your current account balance in credits.

I would see if you can chat mode in the playground without error, see if the account is funded at all.

Another place you can visit is the new “Projects” part of the account, where API keys are now created with more rights, make a new API key there, and see if that will work for you for API calls. Then finally review and update hard limits above what you have accrued so far for the month in “usage”, where limits are shown graphically after you click the upper right box with text for showing billing and an arrow.

I just rechecked everything and it looks like below,
(and the playground also gives the same error)

I’m kind of confused by this. we have been on the monthly plan for a year now and strange if they switched us to a different billing mode without informing us.
