I’m having a issue with the API.
I have my billing setting on ‘Pay as you go’ and a $120 limit, but every time I test (Assitant and API), I get this error:
‘You exceeded your current quota, please check your plan and billing details. For more information on this error, read the docs: https://platform.openai.com/docs/guides/error-codes/api-errors…’
I’ve entered the correct credit card (it’s the same one I use for ChatGPT). I’m unable to reach support to explain my problem.
Do you have any idea how I can solve this issue ?

Hi! If you only added a credit card within the last several months, then your account is likely requiring a prepay credit.
Here’s the payment destination:
Accounts that were on monthly billing before August and haven’t changed status would see a prominent message there “You’ll be billed at the end of each calendar month for usage during that month.”
On that screen, you’ll need to proceed further than “add payment details”, through to actually purchasing a credit balance that can fund your API usage.
If you have a monthly account, and there was some problem with your existing payment method (such as expired card), you can go to this link to add the new monthly billing payment method without removing the old one.
You can also review the “limits” page and see the limits you have set yourself on your account (near the bottom).
