Error saving draft when building a new GPT

Have the same issue since yesterday… very annoying as I cannot proceed with developing my GPT…

very annoying…

Same here, keep getting “Error saving draft” in all my custom gpts now, whatever the number of files, file types or file sizes…

I can replicate the error - as soon as I upload more then 10 files to the GPT, it throws errors.

It keeps happening to me too. So many glitches since dev-day.
Terminal error: “API error > Cannot have multiple custom actions for the same domain.”

Keeps happening, none of the previous suggestions work after upliading 10 files

“error Saving draft”
Same for me in the last days, its annoying .

I just realized that the same action in my GPT was suddenly listed three times. I removed them (actually deleting only the last one) and reinstalled the action. Now the saving error is gone.

First some advice. When the error saving occurs, copy the whole text from your conversation with the GPT Builder and save it in a text file to show it later. That way you can refresh or exit out and try again. Give a pretext of what happened and that you saved the conversation then paste the contents of the text file.

Second: It’s not fixed yet. Please confirm before saying it is fixed. As of No November 16 I am getting errors trying to save: “Error Saving Draft” and "Something went wrong with your GPT ". Earlier it was because the builder kept making the GPT title longer than 50 characters. I would shorten the title and it would save. Now it’s just giving errors.

These errors are wasting my limits to the point that I get the “You’ve reached the current usage cap for GPT-4, please try again after” message. Disappointing we pay for something that errors out and fails to fulfill what we are paying for yet there is no compensation.

According to OpenAI documentation is 512 MB across up to 10 files

Thanks !!
I deleted the action too and I can save my GPT again !

Had the same issue this morning. Please make sure that you dont have any duplicate actions. I deleted mine, and that resolved my issue.

I have no actions in my GPT and still get these errors but I do have uploaded files. Seems to be multiple root causes of the issues.

Same here. delete all the actions but still having the issue. deleted cookies and refreshed the page but no luck.

Same here, I can save with actions but as soon as I configure an Auth I have the “Error saving draft” error. I am trying since 3 days to save a custom gpt with action with auth but I always have the error.

I am having the same error for two days now. I tried with uploading 10 txt files and it didn’t work.
Then I combined all the text from 10 files into a single txt file and it appears to be working for now. Lets hope it stays that way.

This is the answer!

chatGPT was giving a bad error message and not telling us the reason why it couldn’t save anymore.

After removing some files, I could upload new ones again and save.

Update: Aaaaand the error is back.

Update: After fiddling with it some more, I removed all files and then it started saving again. Seems like they have really shitty error handling. chatGPT isn’t communicating the file requirements, and also they have a bug where they’ll accept a file for one save, and then not on subsequent saves. So best to keep your files to .txt and below 100MB total for all files if you want to play it safe.

Here is how I fix this: I remove my action settings, it could be saved successfully, then I add back my actions, then I could update and save my GPTS.

This issue hasn’t been solved by GPT for few days, which is super annoying that I had to re-create my action schema every time.

I had a feeling it had something to do with uploading files. Did you just upload it through the Configure tab, or through the chat?

I noticed that when i was chatting with it it would save just fine. But then when I chatted it with some files it bugged out.

Tho if any devs are reading this, i’d really rather upload through the chat. Some of the files i upload for its knowledge base are for a specific prompt. uploading it willy nilly might confuse the GPT…

SOLVED by following other tips above re checking for duplicate actions. Can upload files again once clearing duplicates.

Not sure how the action got duplicated in the first place - GPT managed that itself somehow.
