You have to fill in the title before you can write the post - but sometimes you want to write the content (or paste something you’ve composed or key notes or something) before giving it a title
The category label selection does not show intuitively if there are more options you need to scroll to - and sometimes you start at the end of the options list so even if you try to scroll, you try down and it doesn’t work
Sometimes you need to add a tag, sometimes not
I have a LOT of pent-up issues, so I started posting them and only AFTER composing one post, got ‘an error occurred’ and blocked from posting
Ironically, I then got an auto-generated message saying ‘you’ve been promoted up a trust level… feel free to start a new topic’
Many important topics are closed
No aggregation of the same issue
I don’t want to have to learn a new set of rules and play a new game, I want to post and vote and go.
You just joined the forum and within 1 hour posted what 5 posts in addition to replies/messages - that’s pretty generous. Ironically one of the posts is a post about being unable to make posts
This forum like many others across the internet is based on the “Discourse” forum software. Behaviors you see are universal across the software platform unless customized.
The reason that you cannot go right to placing contents of a message into a new topic’s text box is that the choice of a category may precipitate insertion of communicative placeholder text in the reply box.
