How I can disconnect my google account with ChatGPT and create a Password?

On a Desktop Browser:

  • Log in to your Google account for example on Gmail
  • Click your profile icon to the top right corner
  • Manage your Google Account
  • Security
  • Under “Your connections to third-party apps & services”
    • OpenAI
    • Delete all connections you have with OpenAI
    • Confirm

Almost May 2025 and STILL no way to do this. I am truly flabbergasted! It’s standard functionality for almost every other website. I too connected my Google account before caring more about privacy, and now there’s no recourse until they get around to adding the functionality. The only current ways to request features are to chat with support (https://help.openai.com/en/) or email them at support@openai.com. I encourage anyone reading this to do both, and hopefully flood them with enough requests that they’ll actually listen.

Note that this is NOT A SOLUTION if you still want to access your account and saved chats. This will merely disconnect Google from OpenAI, which will break your ability to log in if you “signed in with Google.” In effect, you will no longer have a functional account. As per my comment below, OpenAI needs to integrate proper functionality for changing your email/password.
