For several days, I have been trying to add a credit card to purchase credits for using the ChatGPT API. Unfortunately, all four of my international credit cards have been declined. I have followed all the instructions, such as clearing the cache and checking with my card issuer to see if there were any blocks, but no issues were found. I would like to understand why OpenAI’s credit purchasing policy is more restrictive than any other place I’ve ever shopped at.

I’m sorry that you can’t purchase credits with a credit card.
As a possible solution, why not try using a debit card if you have one?

I have also tried using a Wise debit card, but it didn’t work. I live in Brazil, and it’s not common for us to have access to USA debit cards here.
Hmm, I see. I believe that virtual debit cards, such as Wise Debit Card, cannot be used to charge credit because it is difficult to verify the customer.

Or you could get a new credit card, but that’s also difficult…
