Hey @empbilly, that does sound a bit odd.
First quick thing to check. Have you tried using a different browser or device to see if the same thing happens? Sometimes that alone can rule out local issues.
Also worth mentioning. There was a recent outage where some users had trouble sending messages. What you're describing sounds a little different, but it might still be related.
If Deep Research is still getting stuck after trying that, the best next step is to contact support at support@openai.com. This way we can look into account level details that can’t be checked from the forum for privacy reasons.

The same problem is also occurring in Firefox.
I will open a ticket via support.
Deep Research consistently fails on my account across devices, browsers, and networks, with “Something went wrong,” “Streaming interrupted,” and network/access-control errors, even after all standard troubleshooting.
Please take a look at Issue Chatgpt All Deep Research request failed, stuck on “Researching…”…
This has been an issue for the past ~2 weeks…

Try to run the agent mode, if it doesn’t work either, I think it’s pretty much the same as us. We tried across browsers and platforms (cellphone / PC).
Agent Mode did work, Only Deep Research is not working for me…

At least your problem is less problematic than ours.
Either way, I hope you can solve your problem soon (as I hope we solve ours too).
I don’t use agent mode. I rely on deep research only, so it’s hitting me hard haha. Best of luck to us.
For now, I’ll request a refund since ChatGPT isn’t working for me right now.
