Hi all, I recently upgraded to the Pro subscription in order to access the Deep Research function. I was able to use it twice to great success, but when attempting to use it today, even after attempting to manually invoke Deep Research by telling it to to use the function (as well as clicking the DR button), it says it cannot use it.
I’ve tried restarting, clearing my browsing history and cache, and am wondering what else I can attempt to do to try to make this work again?
I’m hesitant to pay $200/month for a function that doesn’t work.
Deep research option has disappeared from web client… but is present on new interface on Android app. Scratching head on where to find it depending on interface.
This is because OpenAI employs a degradation strategy in regions with higher usage. This may include, but is not limited to, disabling DeepResearch or secretly replacing the o1 pro model with the 4o model.
I’m afraid so.
I joined a group where everyone is discussing this matter. Some members managed to regain access to o1-pro and Deep Research by emailing the support inbox. Others have discovered that different IP addresses receive different treatment—IPs from remote cities have no issues, while those from popular cities occasionally experience problems accessing the service.
https://manus.im/ has to instruct it a little more. but working well. just have to wait for 2 days for them to accept application which is almost guaranteed. I tried with 2-3 emails
Yeah - this is not cool. the whole purpose of the pro subscription is all the deep research queries. Not only is it constantly going offline, but (a) it wont tell you, it just stops. (b) it charges you for the unfinished query - you dont get it back. (c) it cant even pick back up where it left off. if it could do that, i honestly wouldnt even care, but this stuff seems fundamental? anyway.
