I’m a ChatGPT Plus subscriber who used the official DALL·E GPT daily for professional creative work. Recently, it stopped generating images entirely. It now fails silently or returns:

“InvalidRecipient: Unrecognized recipient: dalle”

This isn’t a prompt issue — it’s a backend deactivation confirmed across browsers, devices, and by multiple users. No warning, no notice, no fallback. The GPT still appears active, but image generation has been silently disabled.

We purchased ChatGPT Plus mainly for the image generation feature, but it was suddenly removed without any prior notice. This is extremely disappointing, especially since we paid for access and were not informed about such a change in advance.

Now you’re pointing us to the guidelines and saying not to cross-post, but what about the users’ perspective? We’re paying customers, and there’s no proper support — no one is responding via chat, email, or even in the community forum.

This is not acceptable. We deserve clear communication, transparency, and proper customer support. What will happen to the value of our subscription now that a key feature has been taken away?

I agree with you. I’m not from OpenAI either, just another user like you. I also have the paid version, but I can’t generate images with DALL-E.

That said, posting the same message repeatedly won’t help solve the issue. This forum is the OpenAI Developer Forum, so it’s not the right place to get support for ChatGPT or custom GPT problems. OpenAI suggests using their Discord channel for those kinds of questions.

Kinda hard to believe that’s true, honestly. I’ve still got a Plus account and I can generate images just fine, the option’s still there too. Just tested it a sec ago, actually. (look at the screenshot)

Direct 4o image create is working but we are using DALL-E 3 old in gpts store that is the issue you can see in gpts in that DALL-E custom gpt is not working without informing just stopped.
