Custom GPT won't access any uploaded files

I have been trying to build a custom GPT on some of my log data (CSV, txt). The files are large, but everytime I upload a file and query, it gives me the message “I cannot access any files you’ve uploaded. I don’t have the ability to view, download, or interact with files directly.”

I spent 20 minutes copying and pasting chunks making sure I didn’t exceed the tokens and it would return data, but as soon as I left the GPT and tried to query, it retained no memory of it.

Am I doing something wrong? I am wasting so much time trying to build this custom GPT. I appreciate any help.
