Hi, a few days ago I posted about a persistent issue: I can’t publish my custom GPT because it’s stuck in “Draft” mode. It doesn’t let me switch to “Only me” or click the “Create” button.
I’ve tried everything:
– Different browsers
– Incognito mode
– Logging out and in
– Starting a brand new GPT from scratch
– Trying to set visibility before filling anything
I also contacted OpenAI support through the Help Center, but I haven’t received any reply yet.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any real fix or someone from the team who could check this?
Thanks.
Hi SimonFL, Yes, I too have been having the same exact issue and am getting quite frustrated.
I went to a lot of time and trouble to create a custom GPT that only produces family friendly rated-G creative material like scripts and images, that I want to share with my community privately. I don’t want to charge money for it, made sure it is totally compliant in every way, no branding (initially for images it was going to cite “Pixar-style” but since that is trademarked I took it out of the instructions).
So I have a compliant in every way, safe, family-friendly GPT meant to create wholesome helpful creative things, that seems to be perpetually stuck in Draft mode, with no option to share or publish.
Chat GPT is monitoring things, saying it is a “regional rollout” and the USA should be no problem, then said it is in lockdown and nobody can use their GPTs to share, publish or even sell if they choose. It has been two weeks with “no estimated time of rollout”. I fear it could be years!
Meanwhile any and all work I do, I must backup on a Word doc, because the chats do not get saved in draft mode. Heaven forbid if there is a power outage, that browser tab accidentally gets closed, or the browser needs an update. All work is lost!
I truly do not think Open AI realizes the gravity of the situation, and something more should be done than contacting support and merely getting an email back from a self-admitted chat bot.
Can a human with Open AI please step in and allow our custom GPTs be available to share and publish? Until that glorious day when the Share or Publish button magically appears to replace Create in the upper corner as Chat GPT promises it will someday, Many of us are simply stuck! It is unfair when we are paying good money to be able to create a custom GPT, and can’t do anything with it other than temporary work for ourselves.
