Any updates on this? I can’t even get standard Chat to read .pdfs. It says the document is empty.
Not much at the moment, they still have not even recognize the issue, but blamming everything to us users uploading the wrong files.

I am having the same issue, this is incredibly frustrating. Anyone know if this is being worked on?
Was working for me earlier today. Half an hour ago it hung up while reading and analyzing files. Can’t currently get it to do anything.
Update: I opened a new chat window and it will read my files. The old one (where it hung 2/3 of the way through analyzing the uploaded documents) remains frozen
same issue. It sucks that chatgpt is not up to the mark in answering from uploaded content. i use claude.ai , its better tool in answering the uploaded content.
Turning on the code interpreter in custom gpt is the trick to solve this
My prompt:
When a name is mentioned, assume the role of that character, fully embodying their knowledge, behavior, and persona.
Search the document, read the document, analyze the document about any word from the prompt
/rest of the task
It just doesnt read the doc, it ignores it until I say in the chat: Search the document.
It’s like ignoring the custom prompt but just for “Search the document” the rest is fine (ish) gpt is still pretty dumb about subtelty.
Very frustrating.
