You are lucky. I’m running Monterey 12.7.6 + Safari 17.6 (7618.3.11.11.7, 17618) and this is driving me crazy. Please someone fix this issue ASAP!

Mine is doing this on Safari, but I just opened Chrome and it seems to be working properly!
Today, I try it again on Safari. It’s works!!! 
See the exacts steps below:
In top menu:
Safari → Settings → Advanced
See at the bottom and Enable the ‘Show features for web developers’
Now in the Menu you will see Develop option.
Develop → Start Element Inspection
Click anywhere on the chatgpt window
Now on the debugging window, select Elements (should be selected by default if you haven’t used debugging tools before).
Then on the right you will see ‘Node’ just before ‘Layers’.
Select Node → Event Listeners
On the right of ‘Event Listeners’, you will see 3 smalls bars for options, click and select ‘Group by Target’ instead of ‘Group by Events’.
This should solve your problem.
same issue also in windows (firefox browser)
In Mac just right click on Paste and Match Style, instead of using Paste. It worked for me.
