CMD+C copy function doesn't work when using ChatGPT

Mac user here. CMD+C copy function makes a weird sound when I click it. Works everywhere else, not when using ChatGPT through safari. Tried clearing cache and cookies, latest software update, nothing else so far.

Copy function works fine in ChatGPT when using google chrome.

Same thing here ;( Anyone knows how to fix it?

Same thing here too. Its annoying.

Please fix this issue, you can also consult ChatGPT.

This same issue has also been reported issue #939762

Still no answer. Seems to be a problem with Safari as other users have reported it works OK with Chrome

Same, been happening for a several days now, was hoping it would correct itself and hasn’t.

It just stropped working for me a few days ago and I am using Chrome and Windows 11

The issue is back - in the last few days.

Wow… someone would normally expect a bug like this to be fixed quickly.

Still broken!

But the fact that it still isn’t possible to copy with [CMD]+[C] from the Mac ChatGPT app for over a week now is quite a bold statement… not a positive one!

Can confirm the bug on the ChatGPT app- not just Safari.

Does anybody know if this got fixed? This started happening to me a few days ago via the app and I’m almost ready to give up on the app now!

After more than 1 year, this basic functionality is not yet implemented. Do you happen to know if this sci-fi ctrl+c function is available on Windows ?

I don’t get it either. The bug is already a month old, and the Reddit community already found out what is happening here. When you focus ChatGPT and select something, it’s now a grey selection first. You have to reselect them again to get a blue selection.

The blue selection works, but the initial grey selection is not copying what you have selected.

From my perspective, if this were a bug, they would already have fixed it.
So I think it is on purpose. But I don’t know why. :person_shrugging:

+1 on the exact same issue. Hopefully this will get fix in the future.

New version 1.2025.343 (1765590282) doesn’t seem to exhibit this issue anymore.

issue seems to be back as of oct 2026 :frowning:
