Just found myself hitting limits too, also as a paid plus customer. Not great at all. Is this low ceiling limit only on the Chat web interface, and is the API unaffected? Not sure what the point in paying $20 a month is really.
This is an absolute joke. I was just about to buy the Plus model in order to access GPT-4, and LUCKILY at the last moment I noticed that they said “Higher message caps on GPT-4” for the “Team” plan, which made me realise there is a message cap for the Plus model.
They try to hide it their best in order to make you pay for the model, trying to rely on people that will not unsubscribe.
Maybe we can all downgrade to the free version. I’m not going to pay for a service if they’re going to cap me!

I’ve havent used Chat GPT in couple days. Today starting a new chat, I get answers that dont follow my rules I mention and the cap suddnly for me is 24 messages! 24?! What gives?
I cant even find a way to file a complaint. Discord server is only for showing off features, nobody is answering, even the mods and other special roles.
No warning, no notifications about this. WTF?

im an EU-Citizien and i wonder if the practice of offering without showing these limits (as seen in so many screenshots provided) is legal?
Maybe someone of the consumer protection in EU (germany) should look into this.
To be honest… i want my money back. It’s not usable with these “dynamic” limits. And they werent shown anywhere while clicking on upgrade till the purchase. You have to search the web to find informations like that.
I pay for the monthly subscription and I got the too many messages limit too. If I would have known that before I subscribed to the plus subscription I wouldn’t have bothered.

Like it’s been said I tried to get help fire some coding, which never worked, errors everywhere then limit. I did explore a bit but still I feel tricked
I hate this so much! It seems to be worse in the last day or so.
It’s just ridiculous. It doesn’t even tell you how many messages you have left. How are you supposed to get any work done when it throws you off, seemingly on a whim with no warning. I’m gonna start seriously looking at the other alternatives, I can’t work like this.

I’m getting long, dumb suggestions. It will give me like a 10 step process to follow based on my request, and right at step 1 or 2, there will be a problem, so I will try to guide it from there, only to get another 10 step process that’s usesless after step 3 or 4.
So instead of getting a good set of 10 steps to take in one prompt, I end up with 240 mismatched steps to sift through, and a rate limit for 2 hours.
I end up googling my problem the way I did before chatgpt even existed. I’m ready to cancel. Ready to backcharge. So annoyed with this obvious perpetual downgrade in the paid tier service.
I paid for the plus plan today. The limit wasn’t clear (I knew it existed, but I didn’t know it was ridiculously low). In less than 10 minutes I reached the limit, and in less than 1 hour I canceled the plan and requested a refund (which I received).
I get ChatGPT usage is expensive and I am fine with paying more. Is there a way to do that or host my own copy of the model in my Own tenant in Azure? I am using this tool as part of my masters thesis so I can get funding through my institution to pay for costs if it is to expensive
Way too expensive to use chatgpt now, 3 hours or 30 or 40 msg is way too less for the money they are charging! i hope this limit changes

Look at the graphic: The FREE account lists “Unlimited messages, interactions, and history.” The Plus account lists “Everything in Free, and:…” If the paid Plus account includes everything in “Free,” and “Free” features “unlimited messages, interactions, and history,” WHY are we - as paid users - getting caps? “Everything in Free” should include “unlimited messages, interactions, and history” as stated.
The unlimited messages is: “with GPT-3.5”
Yes, but your ad for the Plus plan specifically says, “Everything in Free, plus…” If unlimited is in Free, and Plus includes everything in Free… why not unlimited messages, interactions, and history?
“Everything in Free” means unlimited access to GPT-3.5, and it does not include the use of GPT-4. “Plus,” is not the name of a plan, but literally means “in addition to”! That’s all thank you!
I was one of initial PLUS Subscribers. When I subscribed I did so, specifically so that GPT-4 cap doesn’t bother me. Now it bothers me again and I don’t understand why I’m paying if I can’t work normally. I use it for work, and it’s not an option to wait hours to get a result.
And I feel like my service has been severely limited.

I like you, so limiting existing service of existing user-base that supported you from a start, hurts that much more.
Well Google just release Gemini Advanced (paid tier) in our country. It gives great reponses, many times better than GPT4. I dont know the cap, so I am curious, it I have an alternative for GPT now!
