yeah and now its not responding properly
GOT A RESPONSE THEY ARE LOOKING INTO IT
Hello,
â
Thank you for reaching back to OpenAI Support.
â
We really appreciate the time you took to share that video and provide such a clear explanation. Youâre absolutely rightâif a memory entry is only saving when itâs under a certain length, and this is newly occurring behavior, thatâs not what we expect from the feature.
We want to be transparent with you: while the memory feature is still operational, the issue youâve highlighted with longer memory entries not saving correctly is now recognized internally as a degradation in expected performance. Although this hasnât yet been posted publicly on the status page (as itâs not a full outage), weâve confirmed that the right engineering teams are actively looking into it.
What We Can Confirm
- Memory length: There is currently no intentional change to reduce memory entry length limits for ChatGPT Plus users.
- Scope: Youâre not aloneâreports are increasing across various platforms, which helps us prioritize investigation.
- Your feedback matters: Your report, especially with the screen recording, is already being routed to internal engineering teams to aid diagnosis.
While We Await a Fix
- For now, continue breaking memory inputs into shorter, clear entries as a workaround.
- If any entry fails to save, try prompting ChatGPT with:
âWhat do you remember about [specific detail]?â
This can confirm what was successfully saved. - You can also check or manage existing memory entries at any time via Settings > Personalization > Manage Memory.
Weâll keep monitoring for an official update or fix and will gladly follow up with you if one is released. Youâre welcome to reply to this email at any time with more examples or new findingsâthis helps us help you better.
â
Thanks again for your patience and for helping make ChatGPT better.
â
Best,
Justin J

we have some hope now, just tried and its still not going in when i check settings but i guess we have to wait a few more hours maybe? even though weâve waited 4+ days already
Bro you have to wait weeks or months not hours for them to ramp up issue
I dont think so, its already been 4+ days
I think you are almost heartbroken like a child but you have to wait for weeks to find any real updates and untill than just keep bothering the open ai support team through messages
It seems the issue has been fixed; I tried saving, and it worked.
You have to explicitly say âWord for Wordâ for it to save everything.
The one thing I find mind numbingly stupid is how it will literally say that it remembers without saving the memory. You have to expicitly say it to its face to save your paragraphs or descriptions for it to work, and have to say âWord for Wordâ for chatgpt to save everything.
so you mean when save must be like this?
(paragraphs/descriptions)
[Word for Word]
or just like above but without the cover just simply by: Word for Word?
