ChatGPT Desktop App Audio

Is there an issue with the new Desktop App outputting audio in mono format only on channel 1? Audio appears to only play through output channel 1 and there are no options to change audio settings (either input or output).

Yes I can confirm this on my Mac Studio. I am using the latest version of Mac Sonoma and the latest version of the ChatGPT Desktop App for Mac 1.2024.138 (1716432765). If you go into the settings and under voice pick a few different voices it plays the sample voices out of BOTH the left and right speaker but if you press the Headphone Icon and speak to it or ask it a question the Audio response only plays out of the Left Speaker. The only way to get it to play out of both speakers is to set the interface to MONO. You are correct it is a bug. I hope they fix it.

Yep same issue here Mac Mini latest OS

Any updates on this yet? It is still happening and I updated to the latest version

No same issue I’m using Rogue Amoeba’s Loopback software to route the left channel to both output channels

Same issue here. But only on an external sound device (Yamaha DM3) and not when using macbook speakers.

Same here. Only routes audio to the left channel on my external RME audio interface, but both L and R when using internal MacBook speakers.

Same issue here. Preview is working, but my Studio Display only plays it left-side.

This issue is still happening for me on my Studio Display.

Same issue here on Macbook Pro latest version.

Mid-December, 2024 and still an issue. Any fix?

On Macbook GPT voice sounds well from both speakers.
On Studo Display – only from left speaker. All other sound/videos/music goes from both speakers
