Memory is enabled in my settings and I can see the “Manage memory” section. But when I type “remember X”, no confirmation card appears and nothing is saved.
Both GPT-5 and GPT-5 Thinking tell me they don’t have access to memory and that I should enable it, even though it’s already on.
Is this a known bug?
I have been having the same issue! I have tried clearing cache, re-logging in, nothing works, memories are also enabled.
okay, I found the solution for now, someone posted this on reddit:
Go to Settings → Connectors → Advanced. If Developer Mode is on, turn it off.

Thank you. I see that now in the chat it specifically references this when you are using developer mode with memory set to off. It is unfortunate though, because if memories and preferences cannot be referenced in developer mode, then it is hard to give more detailed instructions for custom tools.
