I am experiencing a problem with the memory feature in ChatGPT, where the memories are not being saved as intended. Instead, a randomly generated text is being saved, which sounds like a piece of life advice from the AI. The length or content of the text to be stored does not seem to affect this issue. In fact, around 95% of the memory space is free.
I tried to delete all memory data, but it didn’t help. So I cannot give ChatGPT his unique personality back that he had because of the memory containing all our work and projects together.
I’m experiencing the exact same issue as you.
I’ve tried switching devices, but no matter what I ask ChatGPT to remember, it always shows “Memory updated.” However, when I check the saved memory in the settings, it displays completely unrelated text instead of what I actually asked it to remember.
I even asked ChatGPT directly why this was happening, and it responded:
“The bio memory feature has been disabled, so I am unable to store information long-term.”
It’s been several days now, and I still haven’t found a solution…
