Has anyone got the desktop app yet? OpenAI said that it would start rolling it out to Plus Users today (Not sure if that’ll include Team Accounts). If you have, what are your thoughts? How did you download it?

For new users, here is the link to download it: https://persistent.oaistatic.com/sidekick/public/ChatGPT_Desktop_public_latest.dmg. It is being rolled out to ChatGPT+ and free users over the next couple of weeks. ChatGPT Plus users have priority for getting access, so please be patient. If you do not have access, you cannot use the app. It is only available for M series Macs, not Intel. There is no other official download.

Good question! This is a redirect to download it.

[123] I think it’s not avaliable now

I got it to load on the Intel chip. you’ll get a download link on the webbased ChatGPT inside your account - i finally got mine last night… (usa time) download the version of the app for Intel, not M chips (look around on this OpenAI community, someone posted it. over ride the security warning that this is an app by an unknown developer (apple not being very friendly to their new partner?) open up the app - it’s on my desktop, even asked it about this screen and it replied with instructions on battling this sketchy rollout

Got it working fine [Screenshot 2024-05-14 at 10.03.24 AM]

Can anyone share what the download notification looks like in the chatgpt web portal

Where in the webbased ChatGPT did you see it? In the menu bar or as a popup?

What is your mac system specifications? Mine keep on asking to upgrade!

Hey everyone where is official source to track in Mac OS app is released?

For those who still don’t have access to the app: did you subscribe to the premium version directly through OpenAI or via the Apple App Store? I still don’t have access either, and my premium subscription is through the Apple App Store. Could this be related?

Really interesting OpenAI is choosing to roll the app out this way, rather than through AppStore.app If I was them I’d want to clean up all this BS immediately [image]
