Charged $180 for unauthorized upgrade to chatgpt pro plan

ChatGPT charged me for an extra $180 for upgrading to the Pro plan which i didn’t have consent with and did not want to upgrade. i have been using chatgpt for around 7 months subscribing to the Plus plan for $20/month. my bills are always charged at the end of the month, and didn’t realized until today that my bills are charged extra $180 on the 26th january. i have never changed any of my subscription plan and also seen many have experienced this kind of problem.

i’ve tried to contact support but haven’t gotten any replies from them, i’ve also tried to email them to explain. it’s been a couple hours with no replies.

right now i can’t even cancel my plan for next month, i would really appreciate if there’s a solution to get a refund for this. thankyou

This happened to me today. I hope you have been refunded by now. I had been subscribed to plus for a few months when suddenly today I got an email saying I’ve been charge £180 after successfully subscribing to pro which i never did. I went onto the billing section of the ai chat and after an hour (which seems a lot shorter than the time I’ve read other people having to wait) they responded to me saying they can see that I did not authorise an upgrade to chatgpt pro and have an unexpected charge of $228. They refunded me thankfully, very stressful. I did contact my bank who said they can only dispute the charge once it is no longer pending, but thankfully it didnt come to that.
