Card Limit Prevents Payment of OpenAI Invoice $56,516.94

Last month, we generated enough activity with OpenAI to rack up a bill just a bit past $50,000 USD, which was anticipated. No problem.

The issue is that the OpenAI invoice payment system only accepts cards, not ACH (AFAIK) and this invoice is too large for a single payment by a debit card.

I checked, and the business debit card I plan on using is already set to a maximum of $20,000 per day. There is plenty of cash in the bank to cover this invoice, but the problem is the payment mechanism.

We started shopping for other card providers, but we are limited to just a few more business days before interruption of OpenAI service.

It would be great if we could move to ACH or perhaps have a way to set our account to generate weekly invoices at specific intervals of balance.

Has anyone faced this issue? Does OpenAI work with their customers in these types of scenarios?

I would appreciate your thoughts!

Welcome to the forum.

With that size of a bill, they should know? I wonder what other companies have done.

Reach out to help.openai.com if you don’t have a contact at that level.

I’d get on it now before your deadline. Good luck.

Also consider contacting OpenAI sales.

50K is ultimately not that big of a bill to guarantee that you will get attention from the sales team or support in time.

While you should contact them anyways I suggest talking to your bank. Ultimately you may be forced to take your business elsewhere if they can’t provide a solution for a problem which is caused by them.

Good luck!
