Can't reach ChatGPT.com on Chrome unless I clear the cache, every time

Over the past week, after I log into ChatGPT (plus account, Google auth), if I close out the browser, the next time I go to chatgpt (the site) it will direct me to a blank screen. The only remedy is to clear cache and data, close browser, reopen, and relog.

Does not happen to my non-plus account - Same computer / browser with a different Google login.
Does not happen to my ChatGPT Teams account with Chrome on my office computer.
Problem does not happen in Arc, DuckDuckGo, or Firefox on the same user. Chrome has been cache cleared over and over, all extensions and themes uninstalled. I’m all but about to do a full reinstall… but the problem doesn’t happen when I use the same chrome on a different gmail and a free ChatGPT account.

Any ideas?

Same issue here. I’m logged in on iPhone, but blank load screen on pro account on two different macs using chrome browser. Just started happening. I can access GPT no-pro account incognito mode in Chrome.

I’m experiencing the same problem on my MacBook Pro. I’m unable to log in to my ChatGPT Plus account using Chrome. However, I can successfully log in on my Windows PC with the same account. Despite trying to resolve the issue by clearing the cache, resetting macOS, and performing a clean installation of macOS, none of these steps have fixed the problem. Could you please provide a solution? I’m confident the issue isn’t on my end.

Update: I was able to fix this issue by following these steps:

  1. Delete all browsing data excluding saved passwords
  2. Type following in the address bar and disable Experimental QUIC protocoll: chrome://flags/#enable-quic
  3. Restart chrome and try to login again

This worked for me as well - would love to know when they fix this issue so that I CAN re-enable it

So helpful, thank you! This has been driving me nuts for the last week or so!

Usually I’m more sanguine, however, as a paying customer this irks me. Seems quite temperamental as well.

Thanks very much for the fix @uchitha - just out of curiosity, how on earth did you discover this?!

I have to say that I LOVE you so much! I hope you have an amazing day!! I have been struggling for the last 48 hours. Thank you!

Haha, I asked ChatGPT on my Windows machine for advice on what might have gone wrong and started experimenting with its suggestions. It took me a while, but I eventually figured it out!

This worked for me too! But I didn’t have to delete anything.

Only challenge I have is knowing when to revert back when they fix the issue.

OMG! Thank you, thank you, thank you. This issue has been one of the most annoying and time consuming bugs and your suggestion immediately fixed the issue and I can now use ChatGPT normally. I nominate you for king of the world!

Hi guys, I am just elaborating on the answer of a guy named “uchitha Hettiarachchi”. Special thanks to this guy for saving my day…

100% working
Steps:-

1. chrome://flags/#enable-quic
If you are using any other browser replace the chrome suffix with your browser name. eg: brave://flags/#enable-quic

2. press CTRL + F or command + F and search for QUIC
3. Diable Experimental QUIC protocol.
4. And all set ; ).

Worked for me too. Thank you!!!

Thanks. Worked for me as well
