Can't onboard users to team workspace

Our company has a Teams workspace. I’ve been trying to onboard about 60 employees, but the mechanism for increasing the number of available seats has stopped working. I paid for 5 seats, then onboarded 10 users – immediately was invoiced for the extra since I doubled the number of seats. Then I onboarded 10 more employees and expected another invoice that would pay for them and raise my baseline to 20, but that invoice never came. None of the users I invite now are given the option to join the workspace.

Support is no help. I can’t get a human to respond, for almost two weeks now. All I’m trying to do is pay for more seats. Has anyone had any success onboarding users incrementally in this way?

Having the same issue. Have you found a solution yet?

I’m sure there is a way to reach a human on support, try all the options until you get it. It’ll reply with something like “Would you like to open a ticket?” and they’ll get back to you in a few days.

@ian.mccracken did you ever get this resolved in the end?
I’m currently facing the same issue trying to onboard 238 users and stuck at 20 despite being up to date on all invoices.
Support are beyond useless so far.

I am encountering same problem. It seems that there is no solution to solve this immediatly but I realized:

  1. Team can accommodate 2x of a number of seats purchased and once seats is sit by members than 2x, your subscription will be updated.
  2. Subscription updating seems to be “once per day”. In japan it is done at 10AM.

then, if you purchase 2 seats, subscription updating will be following:

day1: 2seats (and 4 members sitting)
day2: 4seats
day3: 8seats…
day4: 16seats…

As you see, a number of seats increases 2x ratio, it takes some days depends on a scale of your organization.
To avoid such not productive days, you SHOULD purchase enough amount of seets for your organization, than half of members.

I didn’t resolve it. After a full month of zero support response, I ended up canceling the first workspace and creating a new one with the necessary number of seats allocated up front. Now I need to get a refund for the chunk of seats I paid for originally, which I’m not hopeful about. But at least my team’s onboarded!

This seems to be happening for me.

I had a free account using my work email and then when I got added to the team workspace, the invite link does nothing, no prompt to join a workspace or change anything.
There are no errors in the console either.

I’ve tried contacting support but there’s no way to get a hold of them. :-1:

Did anyone resolve thís issue? I’m experience the same thing and have been trying to get support but without any solution for several months now. About 20 active users why I do not want to cancel and start over (our shared work will be lost).

I’m having the same issues (created a community post yesterday). We are on a Team plan, baseline users (billed annually) all fine. Tried to add more (but on a monthly billing as we weren’t sure of the retention need of the licence) and none of these people can activate their licence to join the workspace.
You should be able to access multiple workspaces, but we can’t do this either, even with those licences billed annually.

Has anyone managed to speak to a human? The irony of having an issue with a leading AI company, and not being able to speak to a human to resolve issues…

Thank you so much!
In the end I had to do the same, cancel the workspace and create a new one with the right amount of seats up front. Support were no help all the way through.

Yep we had the same. If you start with only a few accounts I don’t think it lets you go over 20 until your next billing cycle. We got 20 people on board and then all the other invites behaved the same as you described and stayed stuck as invites. I had to cancel and start a new plan in the end with the extra numbers up front.
