Cannot add card, "card declined", even though it works everywhere else

Tier 5 customer, unable to add a new corporate card with updated expiration date.

We previously were able to add it, but it tried to charge it today and says its declined. The card is working everywhere else we use it, and I’ve triple-triple-tripled checked the information is all correct.

Decided to remove the card and re-add it, it won’t even let that happen, says in a red box “Your card has been declined.”

When I look at the dev console, I can see the response directly from Stripe with the decline, “generic_decline”, with nothing in there that points to any specific issue.

I’ve tried the help chat, but no human response, and we’re getting low on credits in our production account…

I even tried reaching out to Stripe, since we’re a Stripe customer ourselves, and have no problem charging to this same exact card through our own Stripe account… really bizarre. But that agent said what I feared, he can’t really look into the issue unless he’s talking to OpenAI…

I read through some similar complaints here, one recommendation was to connect from a different network. So I tried connecting with my mobile phone network, and whenever I do that, I get a new error in a red box: “You’ve exceeded the 0 request/min rate limit, please slow down and try again.”

Kinda hard not to exceed a 0 req/min rate limit???

Anyone else experiencing issues? This is a Visa corporate card with USBank. Not sure what else to do before the credits run out…

Your card’s fraud department may be on high alert for charges from OpenAI. You may need to be getting the notifications your banking sends you about “was this you” or other fraud prevention or allow it to go through.

OpenAI is so “untrustworthy” with banking (and getting chargebacks) that I got notified that $6 was blocked and had to go through the fraud phone call and try to charge again.

Thanks for the reply. I called USBank as soon as it started happening, they aren’t seeing any attempts at all coming from OpenAI or Stripe (and we’ve used this card many times in the past with OpenAI, it’s just that the card exp and CVV were updated due to the last one expiring, though the number is the same).
