ChatGPT will now have a world-class search engine built-in to provide timelier and more up-to-date answers with access from the web. Now, ChatGPT answers can be grounded by search and web data and include citations so you can learn moreâall directly from within the chat. The new experience is rolling out to ChatGPT Plus subscribers starting today and will be available to free users soon by simply enabling a plugin which brings Bing to ChatGPT.
Does anyone have this plugin working yet?
If yes, please describe how the experience is, compared to the default browsing plugin in terms of speed and hallucinations.
Thanks!
I went through the entire list of plugins to find that I donât have it yet. Manageable with 16 pages of 8, but soon it will be more time consuming. Would be nice to be able to search the list for plugins to install. Also display more than 8 at a time.
Does anyone know if the API version of ChatGPT will aso have access to Bing?
Since bing uses gpt4, will this improve the free experience somehow?
I donât have it yet⊠I donât think it has been enabled. There is no image on the internet of someone who has it. Have you noticed that âCode Interpreterâ is now âCode Executionâ and has gone from alpha to beta?
@Harmony, I have just received access. will do some testing in the next couple of days and will share the results here.
So far, working fine on iOS as well including citations. although there is no option to select plugins on the app yet, if you already have a chat that is plugin enabled, you can continue the conversation on the app without any issues.
There is no plugin access via API, yet , hopefully soonâŠ
Mine just switched over. Itâs virtually the same. In multiple instances I get one decent link for info, then it spins in circles on certain websites. I try to reword but goes down the same loops, despite saying I want info from diverse sources.
Iâve activated the beta features including the âBrowse with Bingâ. Whenever I try to get ChatGPT to provide in formation based on recent I get an answer like âAs an AI, Iâm currently unable to perform real-time searches or access current data on the internet directly. I donât have the ability to browse the webâ. Is there something I else I need to do?
I have browse with Bing enabled in ChatGPT4, but I keep getting told this: âIâm sorry for any confusion, but as an AI model developed by OpenAI, I donât have the ability to browse the internet in real-time. This means I cannot provide current or live updates on specific websitesâ.
I donât know how to make it recognize that it can browse the web, having enabled this feature in the settings.
Try writing âsearch bing,comââŠ
I canât get it working⊠I click on SettingsâŠBetaâŠâBrowse with Bingâ⊠and I still get the same message ââŠ, I donât have the ability to browse the internet in real-time, which includes search engines like Bing. My responses are generated based on a mixture of licensed data, data created by human trainers, and publicly available data. As of my last update in September 2021âŠâ etcâŠ
Can anyone explain why some users are having success with real-time results and some are not? We are all paying $20 month for GPT Plus, for these features, right?
Same here!

6 posts were merged into an existing topic: Why did my âWeb browsingâ option disappear?
When plugins first came out sites that listed them starting appearing. Here are a few of the early ones, some are quite useful.
Sites such as this now pop up like weeds and I donât look for more as even that is time consuming and the first one listed currently serves me well.

Translation:
As an alternative to using the Bing browser, you can use the Browser Pilot plugin.
I found this plugin called browserpilot, which works just as well if not better than browse with bing, so while waiting for the bing browser to come back Iâm using this and prob donât need to use anything else.
