App removed during re-review with no notification – now unable to create new apps

Hi, I’m experiencing a critical issue with the ChatGPT Apps platform.

What happened:

Submitted app for review

After first review, made changes and submitted for re-review

After 2+ weeks, app disappeared with no email or explanation

Current problem:

Cannot create any new apps

Enter app name, click Continue → nothing happens

Tested on multiple browsers, devices, and Android

Account: ChatGPT Plus plan

Is this account-level restriction? How do I resolve this?

I experience the same issue. Looking at the console I see the following error:

Uncaught (in promise) UserError: You have insufficient permissions for this operation. Missing scopes: api.apps.write. Check that you have the correct role in your organization (Owner), and if you’re using a restricted API key, that it has the necessary scopes.

But I’m set up as the owner.

Exact same thing as Goo_Park! I resubmitted about 2 weeks ago. I check the status online every day. It was under review yesterday.

I tried the AI chat for help. It suggested that I resubmit… but I can’t even start a new app for the same reasons you had … I clicked the continue button after giving a new name for the app and nothing happens.

How do I get my app back into the review queue? It is on its second round of review by OpenAI.

I think I’m hitting the same root issue, and I can confirm it’s not just about app review.

My case:

  • Submitted app → went into re-review (december!)

  • today → app completely disappeared (no email, no rejection)

  • Now I cannot create new apps either

Current behavior:

  • I can enter an app name

  • Click “Continue” → nothing happens (no UI error)

  • Tried multiple browsers and clean sessions

  • My API access works fine

  • I can use all other platform features

  • So this is NOT a general account issue

If anyone from OpenAI can check:

  • app review status

  • Apps-related permissions/scopes on the account

that would help clarify things, since support hasn’t responded yet

same issue on my side as new developer.

  • when reaching the ChatGps Apps from dashboard: Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 401 ()
  • when clicking on “create new app” and then “continue“: Uncaught (in promise) UserError: You have insufficient permissions for this operation. Missing scopes: api.apps.write. "Same issue here. Console shows multiple 401 errors on api.openai.com/v1/dashapi/apps. Cannot create new apps and existing app has disappeared. This confirms it’s a server-side permission bug, not account-specific."

Similar issue. The app was submitted on Jan 20, was “in review” ever since, was actually tested by open AI two weeks ago, and yesterday (4/11/26) simply disappeared, can’t create a new one.
