Not sure I agree, and OpenAI is now starting the pay service, so definitely a product. This is kind of like a beta level release and that means you might have to go with the flow as they iterate, and I hope you are correct that the data was saved - my bad for not making a copy

See Pricing (you may need to login to platform .openai. com first). When you pay for it, you get all the features on that page. The ChatGPT webpage is one of those features.
Additionally notice that your API key is available on your profile page. This is for use in pretty much everything outside of chat .openai. com.
EDIT: Worth noting as well, the chat webpage is only available to free users because its still in open beta. I’m positive paying for it will be required in the future.
All of my conversations were here this morning but now they are all gone. I do typically copy some of the conversations but not all of them. I am praying they show back up really soon. This is a bit alarming.
Same for me this morning. The history was back, it was there for a while but eventually new chats weren’t being saved and then everything disappeared again.

I’m still having trouble to access my chat history. Even after downloading this extention, there is no tab that says “Chat History” is displayed

Haiyaa my chatgpt refuse to send me chatdata.
I usually copy and save the direct links to any of my chats i deem important so i can have access to them even when the history menu is empty. (something like this: https://chat.openai.com/chat/be5bee29-e57d-495a-a32e-d4xxxxxxxx).
You can retrieve some of your history via your browser’s history.
Let’s hope the history list is restored soon.

Alrighty, my chats are back! I’m grateful that they’re still as they are. Hopefully most of you have got your chats back.
I can access old chats by using the history, great tip… HOWEVER… chatgpt is not longer giving me citations to studies. Even when I bring the attention to the previous comments in the thread that has a citation. WOW!

Desde los tres puntitos del navegador haz clic en “historial” y el enlace de la conversación más reciente que has tenido con una cadena larga en url deberás hacer clic ahí. Yo cada vez que refrescaba la página borraba el historial de chatgpt y tenía que escribirlo de nuevo. Al recuperarlo tuve que borrar todas esas conversaciones que desaparecían para recuperar las conversaciones importantes. Posiblemente te ponga Show more o algo así y le picas, ahí están tus conversaciones importantes que has registrado antes. Espero que les sirva. Busquen en su historial del navegador alguna cadena larga!
Mine was missing. I use multiple google accounts in the chrome browser. I switched my google account in chrome, logged into Chatgtp and it was all back. I then tried this on my other google account in chrome which is the one that had the issue. Simply logging out and logging back in (using the google sign in option) resolved it.
My history came back just now!
