After I submit a query into ChatGPT 4 and press enter, I get a response but can’t scroll up or down if the response is long. When I click on the scroll bar on the right, it is not responsive. Pressing the up or down arrows on the keyboard does not result in any response. The only remedy is to hold down shift and force refresh the page to be able to scroll up or down to read the response to the query that was submitted.
Has anybody managed to find a workaround for this phenomenon?
See related bug discussion by searching for “Is anyone else suddenly lacking keyboard scrolling (PGUP/PGDN/HOME/END)?” (I can’t post direct links yet).
I was never able to find a fix and cancelled my subscription. I doubt OpenAI is reading these messages as nothing has been done about the many complaints on this issue.
I’ve found a workaround for the scrolling issue . If you can’t scroll up or down , try this: press the Tab key and the Up Arrow key together. This will highlight the “Share Chat” button (used to share the link of the chat). Once it’s highlighted, the scrolling functionality should start working again.
Pressing Tab and Arrow keys is working. Also Scroll width should be increased, its contrast should be higher so people with vision problems can also use it properly apart than aesthetics.
That trick does not work for me, now (Oct 8, '24). The “Share” button is highlighted after hitting the key combo. But nothing else happened–can’t scroll down the content pane on the right, nor the topic pane on the left.
