I’d like to suggest adding a way to browse the entire ChatGPT conversation history chronologically, either from the oldest conversation to the newest or from the newest to the oldest.
Currently, when you have a very large number of conversations, the sidebar progressively loads older chats as you scroll, but eventually it can stop loading before reaching the earliest conversations.
It would be extremely useful to have options such as:
Go to oldest conversation
Go to newest conversation
Browse oldest → newest
Browse newest → oldest
A way to continuously load the complete conversation history without the sidebar stopping at a certain point
For example:
1st-ever chat → 2nd chat → 3rd chat → … → newest chat
This would be especially valuable for people who have used ChatGPT for years and have thousands of conversations but don’t remember the topics or keywords of their oldest chats.
Why this would be useful
Sometimes users don’t want to search for a specific conversation. They simply want to look back through their ChatGPT history, similar to browsing an archive or timeline.
For example, I may want to revisit my very first ChatGPT conversations and see how my use of ChatGPT evolved over time. If I don’t remember what those conversations were about, keyword search isn’t a practical solution.
A simple “Go to oldest” button or complete chronological browsing mode would solve this.
This wouldn’t need to change how the existing sidebar works. It could simply provide an additional History/Archive view designed for browsing the complete history.
Thank you!
