Accessibility for persons with disabilities

Looking for information or contacts of persons developing components that are accessible for persons with disabilities. I’m a professor at the University of South Carolina and looking to find ways to make this more accessible to individuals with disabilities.

Welcome to the community. I can’t think of any off hand, but hopefully someone will speak up. Have you searched around the forums yet? Glad you’re with us!

Are you looking for special kinds of disabilities or just generaly asking?
I mean e.g. for blind people there might be some speech to text solutions like whisper and polly… or you use e.g. telegram and a telegram bot that does speech recognition.

For people who need easier language you can prompt for it.

And I think I have even read something in combination of computer to brain interfaces… ahh, here:

Hi! Welcome to the community! I have started to look into ways how this technology in general can be a part of building a more accessible digital world for people with visual impairments. Since this was more of a “side epiphany” while working on another project I did not dig very deep but I’m sure we can figure something out to at least point you in the right direction.

I want to be a subject of bcı researchs. How can i be one?

My email adress is quatrist@hotmail.com , contact from here.

I been thinking of making something like this for a long time… Dec2023 lol. As it would be for me to use. Just what are you wanting help with.

AI in Special Education for under privileged Autistic Students

Hello everyone!

I’m an educator working with autistic children at a Title 1 school and am currently exploring the exciting frontier of integrating Artificial Intelligence into special education. My goal is to hyper-individualize learning experiences, maximizing personal and academic development. This includes developing verbal and intellectual prosthetics to enhance our students’ educational journeys.

I’m reaching out to this incredible community to find individuals who share a passion for using AI in special education. Whether you’re an educator, developer, researcher, or simply someone with ideas and experiences to share, I believe we can make significant strides together.

Here’s what I’m experimenting with:

  • Personalized Learning Paths: Using AI to create customized lesson plans that cater to each student’s unique needs and learning pace.
  • Verbal and Intellectual Prosthetics: Developing tools that assist in communication and cognitive development.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Leveraging AI to analyze educational outcomes and refine teaching methods.

I envision a collaboration where we can:

  • Share insights, strategies, and research.
  • Develop and test new AI tools and approaches in real classroom settings.
  • Engage in regular discussions to brainstorm and overcome challenges.

If you’re interested in making a tangible impact in the lives of autistic students through innovative AI applications, I would love to hear from you! Let’s combine our expertise, creativity, and passion to create a brighter educational future for these amazing children.

Please reply here or send me a direct message to start our conversation. Looking forward to collaborating with you!

Best regards,
Daniel D
