Will Codex ever get an upgrade to at least GPT 5? or better o3?

I’m a pro/api user and I started building my whole app with Codex but I feel it is simply not powerful enough. For some complicated / incongruent issues i’d basicly submit the issue to gpt 5 and have gpt 5 provide a codex prompt only for codex to not be able to do it properly or produce weak solutions and MANY TIMES break the whole branch.
this difference in apptitude between GPT5 Thinking/PRO/o3 and CODEX is really hurting the product.

The “philosophy” behind Codex i believe should be for the user to be an Architect only but you need the worker to be abble to lay the damn bricks straight.

Thinking that codex … or Chatgtp will do all the magic for you…
well sorry, that stadium we not reached yet., for now at least.

It can do wonders, and code very fast but it breaks stuff also very quickly .. its making your application by a junior developer that knows how to search the internet quickly to solve things.

So when you have a tought lets make this… its you as a Project leader to stear the project.

its like sending your application to India .. when you native language is german or french..
well you got the point…

its for you to do the project direction.. code smells and bad programming to correct.

It does not mather wich code base / language or even AI you use for the moment.
Even Google / Anthropic / ChatGTP .. they all have there own flauws … well inperfections

If you simply can say make this… oh it can make it .. you only forget to define the damm specs. :stuck_out_tongue:
yes been there done that… that splitter is not working. GO FIX THE damm thing… !!!

yep … he removed it … and simply replied… now all things with splitter are fixed.. … geeez :stuck_out_tongue:

most fun part…

The “philosophy” behind Codex i believe should be for the user to be an Architect only but you need the worker to be abble to lay the damn bricks straight.

yep.. and if you as Architect should know that making things cost time and sterring in correct direction and distance. … else… you never have a perfect result.. not with AI .. not with team of real developers… cause thats simply not how things work in tech.
