I bought a $45 ship in 2013 and waited for its release. 11 years late, it’s still in the alpha version.

Yeah, but for star citizen, you buy a game package once for $45 and you can play the game for 10 years as it develops as a premium member. Anyway Star Citizen has some of the best Developer to community engagement of any software project, it has clear roadmaps and quarterly patch updates. No real comparison actually

Many subscribed because of that. and didnt get what they were hoping for.
This Hype strategy got them many subscribers.
Im Not paying anything until i see product shipped and reviewed.

I was sure the keynote was just a “in the future we promise to…” kinda think.

First of all, Sam specifically said in a number of interviews that the new 4o voice+vision will be completely FREE for everyone, there will just be a limited number of prompts for free users.
And he did say WEEKS for plus users at the end of May. It’ll soon be a month, so it’s not that far off if they release it soon. Patience young Padawans.

To be completely honest, I wouldn’t want to use this feature with any of the current voices. Can you guys either bring Sky back or another famale voice that is not as annoying as Juniper? The fake overexcitement on Juniper is so annoying!

100% agreed. I think the drama with sky is ludicrous. There are billions of women on this planet…do they realize how many probably sound EXACTLY like ScarJo??? 
That was the only voice I liked.

I checked this morning and mine hasn’t updated.
The way I see that I still have the old version of Voice is when I click the ‘info’ icon in the upper right of the screen (voice chat must be engaged). When pressed, it gives me an in-app notification saying “New Voice Mode coming soon. We plan to launch a new Voice Mode with new GPT-4o capabilities in alpha within ChatGPT Plus in the coming weeks. We’ll let you know when you have access.”
Do we know how they will notify us that we have access?
EDIT: 9/6/24 and I still dont have access. Curious how many others still do not have access?

Here’s an update from mid June, still nothing. To be fair, “weeks” can mean anything. They could actually mean 52 weeks. Yes it’s a year, but they’re not actually wrong, it’s in the coming weeks.
I also got that “beta voice coming soon” about a month ago. Open ai is definitely good with the hype train but isn’t executing. Seeing Claude 3.5 just passed 4o by, I’m hoping anthropic comes to save the day.
